In February 2008, the American Kennel Club awarded Florence with it's "Special Silver Medallion" in regonition of her
valuable contribution to the sport of purebred dogs.
AKC lists breeders like Florence who have finished the Championship of at least 5 dogs
from the Bred-By Exhibitor class on their website at http://www.akc.org.

We bought our first kuvasz puppy with an older adult from a working ranch in MT after reading an article in the AKC Gazzette about the breeder and their
kuvasz in December of 1990.
In our limited breeding program, since our first litter in June of 1997, I have been the breeder of 17 kuvasz Champions, and
finished the Championship of 2 more kuvasz.
Our kuvasz have been on national TV several times...Ginny's interview on
NBC news fro the grooming are of the Westminster Kennel Club, it was the
first year she was invited to the Westminster show. The Martha Stewart
Living show also had a clip of her and I on their show from the garden that
year. If you've watched dog shows on Animal Planet, you've likey caught Stratus'
interview with Leanza or one of his many working group appearances. Stratus was
also on the CBS Early show with Bryant Gumble (he owned 2 kuvasz).

Primarily our wonderful family companions; our dogs are also performance event
competitors, have working ability, and are highly competitive show dogs in
the toughest competition across the US. Showing is such a small part of
our dogs' lives. Our kuvasz are always house pets and family members first. We are
proudest of the overall quality of our pet puppies. Our own dogs being our pets is the
largest satisfaction for our show dogs to consistently be the nations top winning show kuvasz. I only Breeder Owner Handle
my kuvasz to their wins, they are never sent out with a handler to shows.
In our limited breeding program, since our first litter in

finished the Championship of 2 more kuvasz.

Our kuvasz live in our home and in an acre of grassy yards,not kennel runs. Our dogs are confident and do not charge fences
at guests but might expect much attention from you if they decide you're worth their time. Our dogs
exude what a wonderful family dog kuvasz makes with proper socialization, training, and
breeding of proper kuvasz temperament.

I have traveled to as many as 70 dog shows a year, always showing my dogs myself. Winning at dog shows
with our kuvasz is not always challenging. Mattiaci kuvasz have always won at the largest kuvasz entries in the US and have always been primarily breeder-owner handled.
I am very active in kuvasz rescue as well as golden retriever rescue. I have participated and
heavily competed in obedience, titling a UD dog when I was 15, trained for AKC tracking, paticipated in weight
pull and agility training including scribing at trials. Visit the AKC Information and Education site for more information on kuvasz, responsible
dog ownership and dog activities. Our dogs are ready to do anything we are. I am proud to part of the National Kuvasz Rescue group as a Northwest rescue rep. I have received dozens of great tempered kuvasz from all walks of life who are now living with wonderful families who were kind enough to give them a new lease on life. Our small, 207 acre foothills ranch is located at the extreme northern edge
of the Deer Lodge Valley in southwest Montana. We are within 45 minutes to
an hour from Missoula, Helena, and Butte. Visitors welcome, by appointment.
Shown above, the beautiful view of the mountains we see when returning from our 5 mile runs with the dogs. We are within a few hours drive of the also incredible scenery, waterfalls, geysers, and lakes of Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. When the beautiful day goes into night, we have an unsurpassed view of all of the stars on a clear night. We see no other homes, no roads, no other sprawl. Bisected by Warm Springs Creek, we have trout fisherman who fly fish in Warm Springs Creek, or in the Clark Fork River that is one mile south of our ranch.
