Mattiaci Golden Retrievers: Our Available Puppies Started on Training:
We may have dogs or puppies that we are growing out and starting on training. We always have inquiries from homes not
interested in the young puppy stages. These puppies are sleeping through the night, are crate trained and are started on housetraining. With their temperament & activity level, they would make excellent therapy dogs with the training and manners they have.
Prices are based on age, training level, and is a minimum of $25/day past 8 weeks of age plus routine veterinary costs. Shipping and transport costs are additional unless picked up in person at Mattiaci.
As soon as a home we have been corresponding with, tells us they have sent the contract and payment, we take that dog off of our
page.
Occasionally, homes want a started puppy to continue training as their personal service dog. There are several different kinds
of service dogs including guide dogs, hearing dogs, PTSD dogs, mobility dogs, seizure alert/response dogs, psychiatric service dogs, and autism dogs.
There are also other types of dogs with jobs that help people, including therapy dogs and emotional support animals. We do not work with people who are not already associated or set up with a trainer for this work. View Service Dog Society Information here. The Train a Dog Save a Warrior is an excellent resource for those in or retired from the military. (TADSAW) program serves the warrior, the family and the community, by providing the warrior with a K-9 rescue 'Battle Buddy' and the training and tools needed to become an accredited Warrior/Service Dog Team.
TADSAW additionally provides for the training of a Medical Alert Service Dog for any warrior's immediate family, the spouse or children, surviving with compassion fatigue, secondary PTSD, or any other mental health issue diagnosed while the warrior was deployed or on active duty.
Some homes want to do therapy work with their dogs. WE have many of our goldens doing Therapy work with their owners. For those interested in therapy work, David Frei has a great interview on therapy dogs: Davi Frei, advocate for Therapy Dogs
David also has a great book called "Angel By My Side."
Another great therapy and working dog resource is: Intermountain Therapy Animals

All of our puppies are raised as our pets and show dogs: weekly grooming, basic training
and good manners. They travel well on car rides and are very well socialized. Well socialized with
children (the age of 11-13) daily from birth, and introduced to a dog friendly cat. We do puppy daycare and boarding, they have met several new dogs and get along
with new dogs very well.
Every one of our older dogs & puppies go on 30-45 minute runs together with us most evenings, and play and swim on our creek.
For ground transport, we recommend this service: Bittersweet Pet Transportation
Our "puppy and dog questionnaire" and "application" is very simple. To be seriously considered for one of our puppies, tell
us about your home for dogs. We want to know about our potential homes to make sure our puppies are a good match.
We have lifelong relationships and are always available with our buyers. Specifically we want to know:
- your previous and current dog history
- What state do you live in?
- what is your background in dogs?
- what kind of a home do you have for dogs?
